This book is of the minutes to the meetings of the Amesbury & Salisbury Female Anti-Slavery Society, auxiliary to the New England Anti-Slavery Society. It lists the names of the women who met regularly at the Baptist Church in Salisbury (now Amesbury), Massachusetts. John G. Whittier’s sister, Elizabeth and their mother, Abigail were active members of this group. Included is the society’s preamble and constitution. An index and alphabetical listing of members was added when published.
